This is the French AS-30L (Laser), a High-Explosive (HE), short-range, laser-guidance, Air-to-Surface-Missile (ASM).
It is powered by a Solid-Propellant (SP) rocket-motor and armed with a HE penetrating warhead.
It is cylindrical in shape with a pointed nose and has four clipped swept delta-wings mid-body and four small clipped delta tail-fins.
The missile's body consists of two major sections, which are stored and delivered in separate containers.
The front section, which is packed with the four wings, contains the nose-mounted laser-seeker, guidance computer, fuzing system, the 240kg HE warhead and the Safety & Arming Device (SAD) mechanism.
The second container carries the aft section, which contains the boost and sustainer-motors, the four in-line stabilising-fins, roll gyro, control and actuator system and the thermal-battery.
The warhead is initiated by a fuzing system, which can be set for Impact (IMP) or Delay (DLY) action to ensure penetration of the target before the explosive-charge is detonated.
The warhead has the capability to penetrate 2m of concrete before exploding inside a building or hardened shelter.
