sycomor pod
Passive system developed for Iraq by France during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Capable of jamming threat radars and infra-red missiles by ejecting clusters of suitable cut chaff and flare cartridges. While much more complex and heavier than diverse flare and chaff dispensers that appeared subsequently, its primary advantage was its sophistication: it possessed the ability to adapt the length of the chaff to the wavelength of the radar it had to jam.
