So on danbooru, there's a divide between "monochrome" and "greyscale." the former refers to a sort of binary coloring, either white or black as the only colors. Greyscale includes well, shades of grey. We could blend this all together- or have them both imply "back and white" or whatever

Danbooru is an art site where a distinction like that is fairly important since artist can mess with color far more freely. I don't see a monochrome but non-black and white photo being a thing here.

it has some relevance. Real images are ALWASY greyscale. Monochrome images are usually scans- often poor ones that imply another better quality image exists.
