Lead ship of the Italian Littorio-class (also known as the Vittorio Veneto-class) battleships, the most modern and last class of battleships built and operated by the Italian Regia Marina during the Second World War. Following the Armistice of 1943, the ship was renamed Italia and operated for the rest of the war under that name. She was scrapped along with her sister Vittorio Veneto following the war.
