This photo shows the Banshees of the VF-31 "Tomcatters" on the flight deck of the USS Leyte. The Corsairs in the back and along the sides belong to VF-32 "White Lightning", and the similarly positioned Skyraider, including the taxiing airframe belong to VA-35 "Black Panthers" "White Lightning".

There was seemingly a small period in 1952 in which VF-31 was operating the F2H Banshee while VF-32 was operating the F4U Corsair before their transfer to the F9F-6 Cougar in November.
