Photos long forgotten in books.
A group photo of 81mm and 120mm mortar pre-training officers of the 37th Infantry Class, October 1987, training in front of an M113 mortar armored vehicle at the Armored Corps School.
At the Infantry School, we were in the 9th Company, 81mm Mortar Weapon Company. After three months of training, we were selected early to train at the Armored Corps School, bidding farewell to the scorching sun of Kaohsiung. While other students continued to carry mortars in the 9th Company, we switched to vehicle-mounted mortars. The vanguard road never ends, the 714th Company is never finished.
The last two photos are a group photo of the 9th Company students before graduation from the Infantry School. They were sent to me by Wicky Chen, a 9th Company student I met on Facebook about two years ago. Thank you, Wicky Chen, for sharing.
