  • 130 53 TK

Finnish-made 130 53 TK is a fixed turret cannon that is primarily used against mobile sea targets. The weapon system can be used to support the battle of combat formations.

The 130 53 turret cannons make up a firing battery of a coastal battery. The coastal battery's firing battery is in practice a firing unit available to the fires command and control, with 2–5 heavy turret cannon as its main armament. The battery’s fire is mainly used for naval fire at targets at sea. Its fires can be also used using ground firing methods, at targets in the archipelago and on land. The naval gunfire forward observer section of the battery is used to direct the naval and ground fire of the turrets, target designation of anti-ship missiles, and for supplementing the recognised air and maritime pictures.

The coastal battery is part of the Navy’s regional forces, and its most important task is artillery fires at sea areas.
The coastal battery operates primarily under a regional battle group with its own area of responsibility. It operates mainly from fortified pre-fabricated positions.
It’s area of responsibility includes a strong point, that is made up of small bases and positions in the same island, that are able to support each other.
Other units may be operating in the battery’s area of responsibility, which are usually placed under the control of the battery.
