Central Command Area Of Responsibility (Feb. 12, 2003)-- A Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) from the USS Tarawa (LHA 1) Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) offloads an M1-A1 Abrams Tank on a cement parking pad for future operations. The Tarawa ARG uses LCACs and other conventional landing craft as well as helicopters to move U.S. Marine assault forces ashore.
