October 20, 1944 (Showa 19), the day of the Special Attack Unit formation. On the riverbank of the Bamban River near Mabalacat Base, a farewell cup is shared among the Shikishima Unit and Yamato Unit. The figure seen from behind in the foreground is Vice Admiral Onishi. From the left: Adjutant Moji, Vice Commander of the 201st Air Group, Lieutenant Commander Tamai (both seen from behind), Captain Seki, Petty Officer First Class Nakano, Petty Officer First Class Yamashita, Petty Officer First Class Tani, Petty Officer First Class Shioda.
