USS Wisconsin (BB-64) after colliding with the destroyer USS Eaton (DD-510) on May 6, 1956.The collision occurred in heavy fog off the Virginia Capes during a training exercise, causing extensive damage to the battleship's bow.
To repair the damage, the Navy famously transplanted the bow of the unfinished battleship USS Kentucky onto the Wisconsin.
Today, the USS Wisconsin is a museum ship located at Nauticus in Norfolk, Virginia.
