The last photograph of the "Musashi," with her bow sinking, was taken by Captain Tohei (Tobei) Shiraishi, a 70th class naval cadet who served as the torpedo officer on the destroyer "Isokaze."

According to Captain Mitsuo Takeda, a classmate who was the torpedo officer on the destroyer "Hamakaze," he was quite an eccentric fellow.
