  • 'Cyclone' Soldiers inspect Iraqi Security Force checkpoints in southwestern Baghdad

    Staff Sgt. Herbert Smitley, a platoon sergeant from Waynesburgh, Pa., assigned to Company C, 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, meets with an Iraqi national police 2nd lieutenant with the 1st Bn., 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division, at an Iraqi checkpoint during late night checkpoint inspections, Oct. 28, 2008, in the Risalah community of the Rashid District. The Soldiers of "Cyclone" Company, 4th Bn, 64th Armor Regiment, attached to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, visited Iraqi security forces manning checkpoints in southern Baghdad to help enforce Fardh al Qua Non, Iraq's Rule of Law and provide security for the approximately 1.6 million citizens of the Rashid District. The "Tuskers" Bn. of the 64th Armor Regt. are part of the 4th BCT, 3rd Inf. Div., from Fort Stewart, Ga.
